Considering

digital platform for creating enhance knowledge-based value engineering. With
an equal importance shall be given to understand the digital prospect in
personal as well as professional development.
Early Engineering Days
Our engineering days were different where only
academic success considered as your potential as an aspiring engineering
graduate. Perhaps this remains same but with support of your overall
growth on the prospect of understanding the circumstances, value
creation as part of your personal development along with your profession.
Majority of the times importance is given to your soft skill development,
approach towards engineering activities etc.
From
personal point of view when I had started my professional career in engineering
discipline approach as well as execution was different and accordingly, we have
moulded our self. One should be thorough in their technical skills and all other
things were secondary.
Skill Development
Now Leadership, Team communication, Work Management,
high value potential development and delivering the outputs on or before
schedule. Though these requirements might be keeping one under tremendous
stress to balance on work front.
The
emphasis is given on self-development, understanding yourself and
expertise to develop your skill set independently.
In addition to above, many engineering students puts more efforts on personal skill set & development missed out basic concept of understanding engineering fundamentals and complete their educational study as half cooked. Upon progression of their career they didn't get time to again visit back to those days again where one can refresh their engineering concept and fundamentals.
As
an Engineering professional working with Oil and Gas Engineering multinational
organization found that new engineering graduates missed basic concept which
might have help them during their working time. To cater and execute the
solution as many organizations decided to conduct some mentoring sessions
with the help of senior technical associates to groom these new engineer under
Graduate Engineering Trainee (GET) concept as part of Training part. I am very
fortunate to be part of this in my organization where we devised method of,
their training and development for making them useful at project life cycle
level.
Every engineer is having different mindset, technical skill set, communication and other perspective varies and my role was to aligned their A, B, C, D…. etc. After conducting mentoring sessions for 3 years work demand as part of my responsibility as Lead Engineer faced difficulties to spare considerable time for these sessions.
Somehow we managed that process until the COVID-19. Upon COVID-19 it was really difficult to manage these activities keeping balance between work front responsibilities. During COVID-19 phase the new concept of capitalizing on digital technology as Work from Home (WFH) where no one was allowed to come out of their houses but professional commitment was also equally important.
Formation of eFunda Channel
During that phase I had two engineers as Apprentice
Trainee as part of Government Act and didn’t spare valuable time to guide
those. Somewhere I have realization that one should have something which can be
always available to everyone on 24 x7 and 365 days in year. With
great connect of internet and digital approach decided to use YouTube as an
option to create such great digital platform which will be available to
all on 24 x7 and 365 days in year concept.
This sense of urgency gave birth to our channel
which I named as “eFunda” to make digital platform open
source. Since inception of eFunda Channel in year 2021, we have
been successful in to create a platform where all the engineering
needs are catered systematically and detailed as follows.
- Decided the name and completed all the formalities with YouTube.
- List down all the topics which requires a attention and not available in consolidated manner.
- After listing down decided to form play list and their associated topics.
- Making group of videos in series, some independent videos as well part by part topics.
- Keep watching our channel eFunda where we are creating videos related to Engineering and Project Topics and saved under separate play List.
